James (Jim) Hebert

James D. Hebert is the President and founder of Hebert Research, which employs nearly 80 researchers and serves more than 2,000 companies and organizations in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Pacific Rim. In 1992, Hebert Research was given the Emerging Business Award. In 1996, Mr. Hebert was appointed an adjunct Professor of Business at the University of Washington and specializes in teaching new product development, and retail management. In addition, he is the Director of Research for Price Costco, a $22 billion wholesale membership club. Prior to forming Hebert Research at the age of 29, he was an Assistant Vice President and Manager of Retail Banking for First Interstate Bank, now Wells Fargo Bank. For five years, Mr. Hebert was also on contract with the U.S. Small Business Administration to provide management assistant to minority businesses.
Mr. Hebert's intellectual properties in the research profession involve his research procedures for price elasticity, demand forecasting, and the building of business confidence indices. These were used for the market development of U.S. West Cellular Telephones, Cinnabon, Microsoft Windows, and hundreds of other applications within home-building, manufacturing, and retail sectors. The Hebert Research national business and economic confidence index reaches a monthly to a readership base of 11 million and can be found on the Internet at www.hebertresearch.com. Mr. Hebert has published more than 200 articles and has an annual average of 40 public speaking engagements. In addition, he won the Distinguished Lectureship Award from the University of Washington and has been a lecturer to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Small Business Administration and U.S. Department of Energy.
On a personal basis, Mr. Hebert grew up at Mount Rainier National Park where he learned to love the outdoors and the importance of preserving the quality of the environment. His formal education was obtained from the University of Washington and Seattle University.
